AI Thing operates on a credit-based system. Credits allow you to ask questions and perform tasks. You can view your used and total credits in Settings → Account

Getting Credits

  • You receive free credits when signing up for the first time.
  • You can purchase more credits from https://get.aithing.dev.

Credit Consumption

Credit usage depends on the model chosen based on your preferences. You can view the exact credit cost per query in:
  • Settings → Model

How credits are deducted

  • Each query has a base cost in credits.
  • Capturing an image for context adds an additional credit cost.
  • Old images remain in the context of a tab and continue to add cost for every query.
This does not apply if you are using your own API key. AI Thing is completely free when you use your own key. Learn more

Example

For a model that costs 1 credit per query and 2 credits per image:
  • Ask “What is life” → 1 credit
  • Ask again in same tab “Explain more” → +1 credit (total 2)
  • Capture an image and ask “What is this” → +2 credits for image +1 for query (total 4)
  • Capture another image and ask “Debug this” → +2 credits for new image +1 for query + re-charging previous image (2) (total 8)
If your questions are unrelated, open a new tab to avoid compounding image costs.
